About the Recipe
I admit I have a weak spot for spicy mayo so I've been looking for a healthier way to add some kick to salads and sandwiches.
This yoghurt-based spicy mayo is perfect for dipping veggies, spreading on sandwiches or wraps, or using as a salad dressing. It's a great way to add some flavour to your meals while also getting a protein boost from the Greek yoghurt.
Here's my take on a healthier version of spicy mayo!
Ingredients
1/2 cup plain Greek yoghurt
1 tsp chilli sauce (add more for extra spice)
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 clove garlic, minced, or 1 tsp of garlic oil
1/2 tsp ground cumin
Salt and pepper, to taste
(Optional - if needed, add 1/2 tsp of honey or maple syrup for some sweetness)
Preparation
In a small bowl, whisk together the Greek yoghurt and chilli sauce.
Add in the lemon juice, garlic and ground cumin. Stir to combine.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Transfer the spicy mayo to a jar or container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavours to come together.
