About the Recipe
Chia jam is a great alternative to jams and jellies made with refined sugar, especially if you are cutting back on sugar. This jam uses just a tablespoon of rice malt syrup, a friendly sugar alternative, as well as the natural sugars and antioxidants contained in berries.
Ingredients
1-2 cups of berries (fresh or frozen)
2 tablespoons of chia seeds
1 tablespoon of rice malt syrup
4 tablespoons of filtered water
Preparation
Add all ingredients to a small saucepan and simmer on a low heat. Keep stirring constantly until bubbly and thick.
Use either a potato masher or stick blender to crush or blend the berries and chia seeds.
Allow to cool, put in a clean jar and enjoy! Keeps for 2 weeks in the fridge.
